CULTURE THAT BECOMES LIVING THOUGHT

GenaGir: The Digital Continuity of the Armenian Cultural Code

GenaGir is a digital repository of Armenian cultural heritage that serves as a bridge between millennia-old roots and contemporary creative thought. We collect and digitize Armenian ornaments, petroglyphs, structures, religious buildings and artifacts, coins, honor boards, statues, historic architectural buildings, tombstones, and typefaces, giving them new life in modern design and production.

Legal Status of the Project

The GenaGir digital platform for Armenian cultural heritage is implemented and managed by the Arevatun Village Revival and Development Non-Governmental Organization, registered in the Republic of Armenia.

The organization is responsible for the operation of the platform, the services provided through the website, subscriptions, cultural and educational programs, as well as the organization of payments and donations carried out within their framework.

Why choose GenaGir?

  • Verified sources. Each item is provided by museums, state non-commercial organizations, recognized artists, and researchers. You receive not only a visually appealing pattern or artifact, but also its historical background and context.
  • Legal use. Each item comes with permission for commercial use or with the opportunity to contact the author or rights holder directly.
  • Creative freedom. Explore different artistic and cultural directions, find inspiration, and create using high-quality, well-documented materials.

GenaGir is also an educational, cultural, and entertainment platform. We move forward with the goal of promoting Armenian creative thought, believing that national heritage should remain alive, applicable, and competitive.

About the Founder and Team

GenaGir was founded by lawyer and independent researcher Gohar Gorgisyan after years of reflection on preserving national identity and professional interest in Armenian cultural heritage. Recognising the urgent need to protect and promote millennia-old values in the digital sphere, the founder assembled a professional team of scholars, archaeologists, linguists, cultural researchers and ethnographers. This digital museum model was developed through in-depth expert research, ensuring academic rigour and reliability.

During the work, talented guides, photographers, graphic designers and dedicated volunteers also joined the team. Each of them faithfully contributes to reinterpreting and preserving Armenian heritage.

Partnership and Support

CULTURE THAT BECOMES LIVING THOUGHT

The establishment of GenaGir was made possible with the support of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, which laid the foundation for the technological development of the platform and implementation of its digital model. Our work is built on close cooperation with government and cultural institutions. The success of the programme has been supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, Yerevan Municipality and all regional administrations of the country. We extend special thanks to museums and cultural institutions across Armenia for providing archival materials and placing their trust in us. Our geography is not limited to Armenia: we are in dialogue with Armenian communities in the diaspora to include Armenian cultural heritage preserved abroad on the platform.

This broad partnership makes GenaGir a platform of pan-Armenian significance.
